COMPOSITION OF CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY
1) The basis for constituting the Constituent Assembly Of India was Cabinet Mission Plan, 1946.
2) The first session of Consitutional Assembly was held on 9th December, 1946.
3)The Constitution of India was adopted on 26th November, 1949.
4) The first day session of Indian Constituent Assembly was chaired by Sachidananda Sinha (Interim President)
5) The last session was held on January 24, 1950 which elected Dr. Rajendra Prasad as the President, H.C. Mukherjee as Vice President and B.N. Rao as the Constitutional Advisor .
6) The Indian Constitution came into effect on January 26, 1950.
7) The Constitution Assembly took 2 years, 11 months and 18days (9 December,1946 - 26 November 1949) to frame the Constitution.
8) 11 sessions were conducted for the formulation of Indian Constitution.
9) Originally it has 395 Articles and Schedules (At Present 448 Articles and 12 Schedules)
10) Our National Flag was designed by Pingali Venkaiah of Andhra Pradesh and our Constituent Assembly adopted it on 22 July,1947)
11) The idea of a Constituent Assembly to frame Constitution for India was proposed by M.N. Roy
12)The 'Objective Resolution' proposed by Pandit J.L.Nehru and passed by the Constituent Assembly , ultimate became the Preamble (Introduction)
13) The words 'Integrity' 'Secular' 'Socialist' 'Unity' were added by the 42nd Amendment in 1976.
14)The Constituent Assembly set up a Drafting Committee under the Chairmanship of B.R.Ambedkar on 29th August 1947. Its member were (Total 7)
